TALES OF A CROSSDESSER: Been a long time....
I know it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted on this blog, but life often has a way of upsetting one’s priorities….
First and foremost, was the huge amount of time and energy I expended upon my mate’s recovery from her cancer surgeries and chemo. We finished chemo in April (during one of the busiest times of the year for me in my work). So far, all the tests have been good and of this writing, she is expected to make a full recovery.
Secondly, I lost the hard drive to my desktop computer at the start of March and just recently have acquired a lappy to “pull us through” until repairs can be made. This has also affected my photograph production. I’m hoping that the deskie will be back on line at the end of this week.
With my mate at home 24/7, I haven’t been able to dress since my last outing on All-Hallow’s Eve! I can’t remember such a long time between skirts for me in the past decade (including a couple of purges).
Normally, this would be a precursor to a bout of serious depression, as my gurl side usually forces a funk if I can’t dress and feel pretty. However, I hit upon a plan that, so far, has seemed to help me stave off the dark clouds so I thought I’d share it here.
1) Dress as much as you can: I’ve been wearing thongs 24/7 for over two years now and this helps immensely to make me feel femme. Plus, a sheer thong is MUCH cooler beneath hated boi shorts than ugly boi undies. As the cold weather began to set in, I added fleece leggings (with feet!) and sometimes garter-stockings. I discovered that women’s silk long underwear is not only more soft and comfortable, but it’s really warm. On really artic days, I added a chemise beneath everything and wore a sweatshirt to insure my straps were “invisible.”
As the heat intensified during the summer, I wear my thong, then a cute bikini bottom over it. The thong holds my clitty “tucked” into it’s little hole while the thong cradles my ballies high up from my inner thighs (no more heat rash! YAY!). Over that, I wear a uber-light, short-as-I-can-find men’s swimsuit (if we have guests about or it’s the time of day when people are traveling on the dirt road in front of the homestead). I also have some 3X-4X tank tops.The 4X tops come down past my clitty, sort of like a 1-piece sun dress. At early morning, night or if I am working in a secluded area, the men’s swimsuit comes OFF.
Shave: Shaving everyday keeps your skin smooth and soft. Yes, it’s a pain, but it really helps.
Do something gurly for yourself when you can: In my case, I decided to FINALLY get my other ear pierced. I’d had one done back in the 1980’s so I got the other one done this spring. I can hardly wait to wear BOTH earrings of the sets I have. In fact, I have been wearing the faux diamond studs from time to time. Painting my fingernails and toenails helped me too. I’ve been growing my hair for 2-½ years now (Yep, no more ill-fitting wigs) and playing with styles is a lot of fun.
I also took advantage of a couple of work-related road trips to scout out venues where crossdressing is accepted. I’m still trying to get to Doo-Dah and the Boomerang Club on a Thursday night…..
Keep in touch with your gurlfriends: I grew up thinking I was a freak...with the advent of the internet, I’ve found wonderful communities of like gendered peeps that help sustain me. The chat room at sissysocial.net is a lifesaver for me, and countless others.
Most importantly, do not neglect your ‘gurl’ mind. Revel and enjoy the the femme things you CAN do, like shopping, practicing make-up, hair styling...et cetera.
