till drgoodhead : I MANUALLY changed the privacy status of my Galleries yesterday to Public...but they all changed back to Owner Only and they added this: "Status of this gallery can only be changed by admin."

9 Nov 21: Remember this day. Over 98% of the photo galleries became invisible. Hamster went from roughly 46,000 galleries down to 800. In my opinion, the heart and soul of Hamster, the thing that made it so special and so much fun for so many years, was the ability of users to post uncensored photos anonymously. Now those days are gone and we are bogged down in regulations. I grieve with my fellow users.

Thanks for your informative reply ay my profile about the photo uploading! Yes, I figured that something must have changed within the last year or so. It's been a while since I uploaded my last photo gallery. Oh well, I guess I won't be posting anymore new photos because no way am I sending them my photo ID info!---- Thanks again!!.

Thank You for your long and informative message on my profile. It explains a lot and tells me that it's not all about xH. However, like you, I have no idea why xH isn't more transparent about these new restrictions. After all, from the way you tell it, it's NOT xH, but the Fed Govt who's behind this.

All my information comes from "mainstream media". I lost over 1200 Favorites in the great purge, so I understand how you feel. About a week ago a New York Times article and the CNN website offered a glimpse of what is happening behind the scenes. There is a strong "anti-porn" law hidden in the stimulus bill passed by the U.S. Congress. The Feds are really cracking down on (mainly) "exploitation of .... people whose birth year begins with the digit 2" and also on "copyright violations". Hamster got caught by surprise because they have not done a good job policing this site. Like you, I think they owe us a detailed explanation of all that is happening so we can decide where to go from here. I am very frustrated and disappointed at the moment, but I think I will be patient for a while and see how it all shakes out.

I examined the profiles of several users who posted photos today. As indicated by the green check mark in the upper right corner of their profile, they are "Verified Users". I believe the requirement is to submit a photo showing your face while you are holding a handwritten sign with your user ID written on it. I am not 100% sure, but I believe this verification photo does not need to appear on your profile as long as Hamster has a copy of it tied to your profile. Other classes of posters appear to be "Content Sellers" and "Friends of Hamster". I assume these statuses also require some verification of your identity.

For upload again , you must have to complete your « intro « .The introduction helps show others that you are a real person. Prove your identity by posting a photo of your face with your username written somewhere. This will help you make new friends and get noticed by other users.
Rules

1. The photo or video must show your face and your written username + the text sv.xhamstervideo.net

2. You can write your username and sv.xhamstervideo.net on a piece of paper or even on your body!

3. Digitally changed usernames will not be accepted.

You can hide your introduction and make it private, then it will not be visible in your profile

But I am not willing to assign them 100% of the blame. I do think they owe us a detailed explanation of all that is happening so we can decide where to go from here. There is still a lot of good material left to enjoy, so I'm not going to go away. I am very frustrated and disappointed, but think I will be patient for a while and see how it all shakes out. I hope you will change your mind and stay. You have obviously put a great deal of time and effort into your gallery collections, and I think it would be a tragedy to lose all of it.
